Sangeet Ready? Gear Up For Some Indian Wedding Songs!

29 August BOLLYWOOD blog

If you’ve spent years watching Bollywood films and planning your dream wedding, then the Sangeet is a big part of your vision. Here’s your chance to take a turn on the dance floor with your spouse-to-be, and enjoy a special fun-filled evening. Besides, here’s your chance to coerce ALL your friends and family to dance to your tunes!

Kala Chasma – Baar Baar Dekho

If you’re looking for something lively and fun, then Kala Chasma is the ideal choice. Between Katrina Kaif’s abs and Siddharth Malhotra’s moves – you’ll have plenty of inspiration for your own steps.

Kar Gayi Chull – Kapoor & Sons

This lighthearted tune is a bright spot in an otherwise emotionally tangled film. It’s a perfect less-than-synchronised Bollywood wedding song. Just put it on, drag your friends on to the dance floor, and have a blast mimicking Alia Bhatt’s best moves.

High Heels Te Nachche – Ki & Ka

There aren’t many Bollywood numbers that can boast of breaking gender stereotypes and keep everyone singing along. Between Arjun Kapoor’s great choreography (in high heels no less) and Kareena’s effortless glamour, you almost miss the catchiness of the song. You’re going to be thankful you brought your dancing shoes.

Ghagra – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

This song is a throwback in many ways. It’s ‘Kajra Re’ vibe is only compounded by a guest appearance from the unforgettable Madhuri Dixit. Oh, and Ranbir Kapoor is around too. How’s that for star power? The beat is great and the dance routine is easy to follow. It doesn’t get better than that.

Dil Dhadakne Do – Dil Dhadakne Do

Title songs don’t always get the credit they deserve, but in this case, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar definitely have our feet tapping! The retro inspiration for this video combined with Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma doing the hand jive are enough to ensure that this is a serious sangeet contender. Jive instead of jhatka? Might be worth a shot!

Don’t shy away from picking slow numbers either – it just gives you and your spouse more time to bask in the spotlight. Whatever songs you choose, just remember to kick back and enjoy your big fat desi wedding in all its glory!
