Truffle Tangles first began as “Sweet Memories” in 2008. It was a walk down memory lane for me. A little girl at eleven in Calcutta, I loved watching my mom effortlessly whip up amazing dishes and thus began my love affair with food. Even back then, my friends would tease me and say I would become a Chef at the Taj, one of India’s top hotel chains. The menu at “Sweet Memories” was similar to what I learnt from my mom and in the culinary school and hotels I worked in. It included many dishes from around India and the rest of the world.
I spent hours learning the trade after college hours, during the “On the job Trainings”. Sweet Memories re-invented itself as Truffle Tangles in 2011– a lil sweet, a lil tangy! Due to popular demand, some of Sweet Memories’ original delicacies are also available to order.
I completed my Bachelor of Hotel Administration from the Welcomgroup School of Hotel Administration, Manipal in 1995. Gained experience in Food and Beverage production at the Windsor Manor Sheraton and Towers Bangalore where I specialized in bakery and confectionary. I supplemented this with business skills in operations, sales and marketing at the ITC and the Taj group of hotels to become an entrepreneur in times to come.
