S.C: The golden rule is to not cake up. You should pick up foundations which are water proof and oil free with medium coverage which is build-able. Invest in a matte-ifying or an oil free primer to make the makeup last all day. A good setting powder and a finishing spray is also a must.

What are the latest trends when it comes to a day time reception? How can a bride experiment?

S.C: Glowing skin , bright lips and very little eye shadow is really big. A classic winged liner with red lips will make a statement. Summer is the time for the brides to experiment with lip colours like Pinks, oranges, corals and reds.

What are a few colors and tones which are safe for the day-time wedding reception make-up?

S.C: a. If you decide to go for a bold lip you have to keep the eyes neutral and if you decide to let the eyes do the talking then the lips have to remain nude. For lips you can really choose any colour that compliments your skin tone.

b. Smokey eye doesn’t necessarily have to be black and very dark. You can do aubergine, brown smokey eye almost like a smudged look with neutral lips.

c. Coloured bottom lash line looks really lovely too and is a great way for the bride to experiment.

How can a bride prep her skin for a summer reception? Any quick and easy tips?

S.C: A well hydrated skin. Drink lots of water and follow a cleansing, toning and moisturising routine religiously. If you decide to get a facial do it once at least 1 month before the D-day so that if your skin reacts you dont have to face that before the wedding. Don’t leave without a touch up kit with a blotting sheet, touchup powder and a lipstick.

What are a few mistakes a bride should avoid while planning her day time reception look?

S.C: You have to remember less is more. If you don’t need it don’t wear it. You don’t have to go heavy handed with the concealer if you don’t need it.
