After months and months of planning and preparation, it’s almost time for your big day. You’ve got the perfect venue, a great caterer, a long guest list – you’ve managed to tick almost all the boxes. All that’s left is choosing the perfect honeymoon spot. Everybody has a long list of places they’d like to visit, but choosing a honeymoon destination is a special endeavour. You will be making memories that you’re going to treasure forever, and it’s quite literally the first journey you’ll take together as a married couple. Sounds important? It is! Here are some of our top honeymoon destinations for newlyweds. Simply add it to your wedding gift registry and let your guests contribute towards something you cherish!

Sun, Sand, And Surf:

Filled with beautiful beaches and friendly locals, Krabi is an easy choice for beach lovers. This stunning haven is situated in southern Thailand and is famous for water sports and nearby limestone formations.

According to Divya & Vinaayak (one of our first Wedding Wishlist brides), who went there on her honeymoon, “Ao Nang is the main beach resort in Krabi and a great base from which to explore the surrounding region. There’s not as much written about it online as there is for places like Ko Samui or Phi Phi. Against the backdrop of a dramatic landscape of steep limestone cliffs, adventure buffs can enjoy numerous activities such as kayaking, snorkelling, scuba diving.”

There’s plenty to see for history buffs and nature lovers. But if you’re just looking forward to relaxing on the beach with a cocktail in hand, you’re definitely on the right track. Plus, it’s one of the most affordable honeymoon destinations and you will be able to get a visa on arrival. Divya says, “Every sunrise is a burst of colours and the unending stretches of azure waters will leave you speechless.” Sounds too good to be true? Only one way to find out, book your tickets and experience it for yourself.

 The Italian Job:

Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic, is an architectural marvel spread out across 117 tiny islands. Connected by a series of bridges and canals, this famous city is considered one of the most romantic spots in the world. Whether you’re taking a gondola ride together or learning more about Venice’s musical culture (opera is a beloved pastime) – there’s a lot to be experienced in this truly wonderful city.

Sriranjini & Amit visited Venice, along with Rome and Florence for their honeymoon. Though they loved picturesque Rome, which was filled to the brim with awe-inspiring monuments and historical sites, they left their hearts in Florence. Sriranjini said, “The city is much calmer than Rome and makes for a very pleasant holiday. The creamy gelatos and tasty pizzas around every corner only make it better!” She added, “Florence has this old world charm with its narrow streets and bridges. It also has a contemporary vibe that makes it interesting. The art and architecture of Italy are what inspired our Rome-Florence-Venice plan, but Florence is definitely closest to our hearts.”

Catch Me If You Kenya:

Puns aside, there’s nothing quite as adventurous (or romantic) as taking a walk on the wild side together. We’re talking about a real life safari! Home to the world famous Masai Mara and some of the rarest animals in the world, Kenya is a revelation for nature enthusiasts. Tourists can visit a number of national parks, stay in gorgeous lodges, and even visit some of the country’s popular beaches. Immerse yourself in the rich culture and landscapes of the region, and who knows, if you’re lucky, you can take home some great stories (and some fabulous pictures, of course).
