And if you’re still like most people, there are characters and stories that you’re invested in. There are couples that you root for, and also couples that you just don’t like. It is not unusual to find people arguing over the best TV couples. While putting their case forward on why a certain two people should be a couple, even if they’re not. In fact, some people take this a step further, and use these TV show romances as themes for their wedding invitations, or the event itself.

This is why we’ve decided to make a list of our favourite couples on television. This is by no means an exhaustive list. We’re already aware that you might have some strong opinions about the list and who’s in it (and who’s not). But that’s okay. Read on to find out who we think are the best tv show couples of all time.

#1. Randall and Beth Pearson (This is Us)

Considered by many to be one of the best onscreen couples in recent times, Randall and Beth are both strong individual characters, with their own individual dreams and aspirations. And they love each other. The best part about this portrayal is that it is very real. We get to see different times in their life, and that shows us both the highs and the lows of their relationship, and it is shown to us with complete honesty.

This is us – Randall & Beth

Randall and Beth do have fights, just like every other couple. But it is truly a lesson in managing conflicts, working through the rough patches, and fighting for your relationship. All these traits make Randall and Beth one of the best tv couples written.

#2. Monica and Chandler (Friends)

Monika and Chandler are not only one of the best tv show couples, they’re also probably the most popular as well! Don’t we all love this kind of story? Two people who’ve been best friends for a long time, and then end up getting together? Stories like this show us that sometimes, you can find love even when you’re not looking for it. The best part about this? Even the writers of the show didn’t see it coming! According to them, Monica and Chandler were never intended to be a long term thing, but the response of the fans was too good for them to pass up on it. We can see why! The duo quickly established themselves as one of the best tv couples of all time.

Friends- Chandler & Monica

Monica and Chandler’s characters are very different people. Monica is extremely organised and clean, while Chandler is basically goofing around and making jokes. But together, they’re one of the tv couples with best chemistry we’ve seen. They have so many memorable moments in the show, from how they get together, hiding their relationship from their friends, the proposal, and everything they did to plan the wedding.

#3. Jim and Pam (The Office)

The last episode of The Office was aired almost a decade ago, but you can still find dating profiles with the bio “Looking for the Jim to my Pam” and such. These two were an iconic couple, and they also had incredibly cute moments throughout all 9 seasons of the show, establishing themselves up high in the list of best tv couples we’ve seen.

The couple were off to a frustrating start: Pam was engaged to another man in season one, and by the time that relationship ended, Jim was dating another woman. Though, as viewers, we could all guess that they would eventually end up together, we couldn’t help but root for them! Every time they pulled a prank together, or even just looked at each other from their desks, we couldn’t wait for the inevitable to happen. Even the wedding was frustrating for the couple, with them having to hide a pregnancy, and then receive gifts that weren’t exactly the most useful either. But to be fair, they didn’t really tell the others what gifts they wanted either, so that’s on them.  But all said and done, the two quickly became the best couple in a tv serial we’ve seen.

#4. Eleanor and Chidi (The Good Place)

Of course, this list would never be complete without Eleanor and Chidi from The Good Place, one of the best onscreen couples we’ve seen. They were first introduced to each other as soulmates, and then they were told that there was no such thing. Then, they had their memories erased and rebooted literally hundreds of times. But they still always found their way to each other.

The Good Place – Eleanor & Chidi

Eleanor was a self-proclaimed “garbage person”. Chidi was a professor of ethics and moral philosphy. Who constantly tried to figure out what was the “right” thing to do. These two characters are SO different from each other, but to peg them as another one of those couples would be doing injustice to the depth that the show gives their relationship.

The both of them are constantly learning from, and teaching each other. And we see the impact each one of them have on the other, and we’re all able to see the character development right in front of our eyes. However, of the four couples we’ve mentioned here, Eleanor and Chidi are the only couple that don’t get married. Which is okay, considering that they were already dead and it must be difficult to live stream your wedding from The Good Place (Or The Bad Place?)

In four short seasons, Chidi and Eleanor have still managed to wow us, and have claimed a spot in every discussion about the best tv couples.

At the end of the day though, every relationship is worth cherishing, and every couple has a dynamic and story that makes their relationship unique, both on tv and in real life.
