Sonam Kapoor’s celebrity status would have a lot of guests on the list. Instead of going the traditional way and printing thousands of invitations, Sonam preferred to take the help of digital wedding invitations cards. While there are different types of e-invites like the GIF cards and photo cards flooding the market, she chose to do floral save the date cards.
World Of Pastels
Shades of cream and pastels evidently dominated Sonam’s wedding theme. Right from the Mehendi, the actress gave us simplicity goals. SonamKiShaadi also happens to be one of those weddings, where not only brides but also bridesmaids could take cues from. We absolutely loved the many simple sequenced Lehengas and blouses paired up with chokers that not only Sonam, but also Jhanvi Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and others sported. Sonam’s flower braids and high neck cream blouse and Lehenga, definitely took home the cake though.
Wedding Royale
Firstly, we were quite surprised that Sonam did not choose a Sabyasachi for her big day. The actress revealed how her wedding outfits were done by designers Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Anamika Khanna, Masaba Gupta and others. What we loved about her Lotus themed red Lehenga for the big moment, was how relatable it turned out to be for everyday brides. Picking up the perfect red Lehenga for weddings might get monotonous, but probably we could take some cues from Sonam. Especially with the jewelry. Tear drop cluster pearl set are all the trend these days and Sonam sure showed us how to rock it. In so many recent weddings, we couldn’t help but notice these pretty sets which go well with all wedding outfits.
Not to forget, the ethereal hand painted blue wall backdrop. It’s for all you interior enthusiasts, who have been looking for the right inspiration to ring in your big day.
A Strippy Affair
The Bollywood Diva’s striped outfit for the reception was an unexpected trend setter. While stripes have been in vogue for a while now, the media was prepared for the actress to go extravagant with her reception outfit. But Sonam instead choose to go for the next door girl look. Brides, if you were having second thoughts about choosing stripes or any other western influence for your D Day, drop it now! Designed by Anamika Khanna, it was simplicity at its best. And Sonam, no wonder is Bollywood’s style icon.
Having said that, we also couldn’t take our eyes off Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. While Alia, managed to go all florscent in Sabyasachi, Kareena stole the show with her feathered blouse and Lehenga.
