#1. Make it bloom!

Nothing beats fresh flowers when it comes to livening up space, and just because you can’t have a florist does not mean you can’t have flowers. Go to your nearest flower market and buy whatever is in season. Pull out all the vases you have at home and fill them up with bunches of flowers, to make really pretty centerpieces. Get inventive and use an assortment of containers as vases, from mason jars to empty wine bottles,  feel free to mix and match. If you find your vases looking plain, tie some jute or ribbon around it for a festive touch.

#2. Take it outside

Planning your wedding in a garden or a backyard? If there is an outdoor element to your venue, you’re seriously in luck as nature itself makes for a beautiful backdrop for a wedding ceremony. If you have trees or plants, string them with fairy lights, streamers, and balloons to make it look magical.

#3. Let there be light

Another advantage of having your ceremony outdoors is that you can use candles to transform the entire venue into a fairyland. Use a combination of tealights, candles, and candlesticks that you have at home and set them up in little clusters. Avoid walking paths or places, where people might trip over for safety. However, using them on tabletops and ledges can lend the venue a stunning ambiance post-sunset.

#4. Put a bow on it

The easiest way to dress up your chairs and give them a festive feel is to literally put a bow on it! Order a big roll of ribbon and make simple bows out of them. Stick these to the backs of the chairs for a formal look. Make sure your bow is wide enough so it makes the right impact against the size of the chair. Thin ribbon will not do the trick.

#5. Make it personal

A really simple but effective way of making your wedding décor memorable is to add a personalized element to it. Since you’re working with a really small guest list, this is very doable. Write a note for your guests and leave it in the dinner place setting. If it’s a sit-down dinner with fixed seating, you can leave name tags and a welcome note. If dinner is served buffet style, you can print the menus and keep them on each table along with a thank-you note.

You can make fun signs and hang them in the background or leave coasters with cheeky lines for guests to use. #8. Add some bling

Rift through your costume jewelry drawers for any beaded necklaces you may have. Long strings of beads can add a fun décor element to your table settings.  String them around your centerpieces or let them drip out of a wine glass—either way, they make quite the impact.
