Your wedding is done. Your days of planning, pulling your hair out and running around have come to an end, that is if you have a magnum opus wedding starring a bridezilla. But if you’ve had a chill wedding, the next step is just an extension of that(so relax!). The honeymoon is as important as their wedding to the newlywed couple. The right honeymoon destinations can make your honeymoon a time to remember. But if you’re getting married in winter and are really a summer person, planning a perfect honeymoon can be quite tricky!

#1. Cancun 

Cancun is one of the most popular beach honeymoon destinations. The main reason being, the place gives off a breezy summer vibe year-round. It’s in the south-east Mexico region. The turquoise waters are simply breathtaking. If you’re an adventurous couple with a flair for history then Cancun is the place to be. Aside from the Mayan archaeological museums and snorkelling, Cancun is also well known for its underwater museum. Well, isn’t that interesting! Also, the place is well known for its food and nightlife. All these make Cancun, the perfect honeymoon destination!

#2. Orlando

This Florida city has over a dozen theme parks. So, if you’re looking to let your hair down and embrace the child in you, look no further! While the northern part of the city is full of thrills and manic crowds, the southern part is much gentler with lush green neighbourhoods and performance arts and museums. So, the city offers the best of both worlds. Take a trip down memory lane with Universal Orlando and Disney World and also take some time out to enjoy the slow pace and craft cocktails in downtown Orlando.

Cape Town is the Capital of South Africa. The city is best known for Robben Island, the prison where Nelson Mandela was jailed. The prison, since then has become a museum. Apart from this, there are various other fascinating sites like the table mountain, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Cape of Good Hope and so on. The V&A Waterfront is your go-to for shopping and souvenirs. If you love exploring and taking long walks, then Cape Town has a lot to offer!

This U.S. State which is an isolated archipelago gives you the best beaches, volcanoes and also has a rich history. It’s one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in the U.S. If you’re a history buff the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbour is a must-visit. It also has some of the best beaches like the Big Beach, Waikiki Beach, Makalawena beach etc. While Honolulu and Maui are the most well-known places in Hawaii, there are several others like Kauai, Oahu, Big Island etc. So swim with the sharks, snorkel with turtles, live all your Moana dreams here!

The Canary Islands is an archipelago located in the western part of the African continent. It has varying landscapes from forests, volcanoes, desert-like sand dunes and even tropical beaches! You’re sure to have a little bit of everything if you choose this as your honeymoon destination. The islands have several activities for every kind of person. From wine tasting in Lanzarote to hiking in the Caldera De Taburiente, there’s something for everyone. The best beaches to visit to avoid the tourist mele are Famara, Las Conchas, Papagayo and Maspalomas.

If a city can inspire various artists to write songs about it, it should definitely go on your bucket list! What better way to visit a bucket list place than your honeymoon? Havana is the capital of Cuba, a country in the Carribean. Havana is a contradiction. With over 500 years of history, the city also allows Bohemian bars and cafes and is also considered an art city. Havana has a strong music culture too! So, if you’re an artistic couple or are into architecture this should be on your list of places to visit! Centro Habana and Habana Vieja are the most popular places. You also have a lot of historic places and museums to visit aside from the bohemian scene.

#7. Belize

This is a country in the Eastern Coast of Central America known for loads of sunshine and balmy temperatures. Mayans make up the largest part of the population in the country. So, that’s a way to get close to and experience one of the most mysterious cultures. If you’re the sporty and adventurous sort, this place is just for you. Once you’re done hiking, ziplining and canoeing you can wind down with the serene beaches and it’s famous chocolate-making classes. Did you know that after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Belize’s Coral Reef was the biggest? So make sure some scuba diving and snorkelling are on the itinerary.

Venice is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in Italy. But seeing that the floods have taken over this beautiful city, you can definitely visit this for your 1st #anniversarymoon! If you’re a major fan of Dan Brown books or Assassin’s Creed games, we’re sure this would be a memorable honeymoon! Visiting the Saint Mark’s Basilica, enjoying an opera in the Teatro la Fenice can be an out of the world experience. You can also visit the Gothic style Doge’s Palace. Apart from this, you’ll even have opportunities to explore Florence and Crema and other nearby cities. Who wouldn’t want to visit Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance? The art and history can transport you through time and make you feel like you’re a part of the time. Call Me By Your Name, the Oscar-nominated movie is what made Crema famous. So, if you’re an ardent fan of the epic movie, you definitely need to add this to your itinerary if you’re travelling to Venice!
